Nicole Heal, CMN
With 15 years in the eye care industry and a background in psychology from York University, Nicole brings a unique blend of expertise and empathy to myopia management.
Certified as a Myopia Navigator (CMN) in 2023, Nicole is an active member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. She co-chairs the Certified Myopia Navigator program and contributes to the development of continuing education programs for optometrists and paraoptometric teams, ensuring families have access to high-quality care.
Nicole is passionate about supporting parents with clear, practical guidance and helping children benefit from early intervention and specialized myopia management. She believes every child deserves the best chance at healthy vision, and she works tirelessly to make that possible.

Alex Hui, Ph.D, F.A.A.O.
Optometrist | Myopia Management Practitioner
Alex Hui, OD, PhD, FAAO, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW Sydney. He has authored more than 35 peer reviewed scientific publications and four book chapters, including on myopia control clinical trials.
An award-winning educator, Alex has taught courses on ocular therapeutics, ocular disease, and contact lenses and has been invited to deliver more than 50 continuing education presentations to members of the profession around the world. Dr Hui is passionate about translating the latest scientific developments into clinical practice and investigating new potential treatments for his patients.
He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree and his PhD at the University of Waterloo. He has practiced optometry in a variety of locations, including in Canada, the USA, and Australia.
Dr Hui has been an invited speaker at various conferences worldwide, including in Japan, Canada, the USA, and Australia, presenting various topics, including contact lenses, ocular disease, myopia management, and ocular therapeutics.

Meet Dr. Ng: Canada’s Trusted Myopia Specialist
Dr. David Ng is the owner of Bayview Vision Care and The Myopia Clinic in North York, where he has been providing comprehensive eye care for over 25 years. With a specialization in myopia management and custom orthokeratology (OK), Dr. Ng is recognized as a leader in the field of pediatric vision care and myopia control.
Dr. Ng earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 1995. He holds the International Academy Certification in Myopia Management from the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC). He currently uses custom orthokeratology software like OrthoTool, RGP Designer, Wave, and EyeSpace when designing orthokeratology lenses.
Currently serving on the AAOMC Advisory Board, Dr. Ng contributes to the Accreditation, Education, and Content Procurement committees, helping shape the future of myopia management education. He co-chairs both the Staff Certified Myopia Navigator Program and the Toronto Chapter of the AAOMC.
Dr. Ng has served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at prestigious institutions, including the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, New England College of Optometry, and Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He is currently Adjunct Clinical Faculty for Illinois College of Optometry.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Ng is deeply committed to humanitarian service and has led optometry missions to Kenya, providing essential eye care services to underserved communities.
